| Sesriem is well-known for it's dunes, especially Dune 45, where a lot of people go to see the sunrise and sunset from the top. |

 |
The sunsets in the area are always stunning, even more so if there are clouds around at the time. |
| An hour's drive from Sesriem campsite are the dunes of Sossusvlei (Sossus Pan). There are restrictions on climbing the dunes, but the one in
the photo is unrestricted. Terry, our driver (in the foreground), told us that it had taken his last World Challenge group two and a half hours to
climb this monster, which stands at just over 300m tall. We managed it in an hour and ten! |

The views from the top are absolutely stunning and well worth the climb! |
| Athough Dune 45 is no-where near as high, this is where everyone congregates to watch the sun rise and set over the dunes. After the sun sets,
it is a mad dash over a dodgy road (which made us miss sunrise due to a blowout) to get back to the campsite before the gates close and you incur
a fine! |
