Day 1
12:30pm Instructors meet Challengers and School Leaders. Collect Emergency Contact forms. Introduction and equipment check - boots, waterproof clothing, sleeping bags, rucksacks. Collect WCE equipment from stores - tents, cookers, and safety equipment. Explain the following: Appointments, Food and Cooking. Collect funds from reception. A small team goes into Buxton to collect provisions.
2:30pm School Leaders briefing. Demonstrate the Trangia cooker, the Hyperspace and the Leader tents. Explain water hygiene (iodine) and the EPIRB. Instructor's safety brief to the group. Decide on route to campsite. Book out through the office. Ensure route card is completed and campsite on whiteboard.
4:30pm Walk to campsite. Cook evening meal. Review the day.
Day 2
6:30am Get up and prepare for the day. Cook breakfast and prepare lunch. Day walk - includes 'lost procedure', First Aid situation, casualty evacuation procedure and dealing with a despondent person. A dry river crossing can be practised on route or at the campsite.
5:00pm In the campsite. Cook evening meal. Review the day.
Day 3
5:30am Get up and prepare to return to the centre. Walk to the center. Clean all equipment and return all WCE equipment to stores. Shower.
10:30am Teams 1-4 have brunch.
11:00am Teams 5-8 start slide show.
11:30am Teams 1-4 start slide show and teams 5-8 have brunch. Review the training expedition.
12:00pm End of training expedition.
